Moong dhal or green grams are a packed with anti oxidants and is known to lower ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol levels, minimizing heart diseases.
Its also rich in potassium, magnesium and fibre which helps reduce blood pressure.
This masala is the perfect alternative for those who aren’t fans of plain boiled green grams, this is a far better way to enjoy them.
Serve it with whole wheat chapati or even dosa and will leave you feeling fuller for longer, adding in weightloss too.
▪︎1 cup green gram
▪︎1 onion chopped
▪︎2 green chillies
▪︎1 large tomatoes
▪︎2-3 cloves of garlic, chopped or crushed.
▪︎1 bay leaf
▪︎1 tsp mustard
▪︎1 tsp fennel seeds
▪︎1 tsp chillie powder
▪︎1/2 tsp turmeric
▪︎1/2 tsp Kashmiri chillie powder
▪︎1/2tsp cumin powder
▪︎1/2 tsp corriander powder
▪︎2 tsp sambhar powder (optional, but does wonders in terms of taste)
▪︎1/2 tsp kasuri methi or dried fenugreek leaves
▪︎fresh corriander leaves, chopped.
